SimplicitySpring shows a softened side by emphasizing clean colored neutrals. Light sage, sand, and cornsilk are shown along sky blue, silver grey, and butter. Texture and dimension give the subtle color more definition. Bring in a rich brown or bright navy for contrast. Linen, slub fabrics, sheers, and tonal knits work well in this sophisticated palette.
InspiredAdd a touch more color and keep the shades clean with natural inspired hues. Taupe and light coffee support clay, thyme, willow, and water blue. The colors are perfect as solids and also provide a good balance with lighter or darker shades in prints and stripes.
AuthenticTrue classic colors are brightened and updated for spring/summer. Warm khaki, reddened navy, bottle teal, rich berry, deep aloe and sport blue create the range of color. Combined in plaids or stripes these colors take on a sporty casual look. Add white for a crisp contrast and a hint of nautical.
RecreationRelax and enjoy the liveliness of summer in clean bright shades. Think surfing, boating and poolside activities. Blueberry, pool blue, coral, plum, red and light aqua come together in cabana stripes and bold rugby stripes. Lightweight fabrics allow for layering the colors.
RefreshedRoadside diners, back porches and picnic grounds are the idea for this group of colors. Rich brown tones down the bright red, orange, zesty yellow and lively green. Retro graphics and picnic prints work in this palette. White is key for keeping it fresh and wearable.
Trends
Tailored styles and clean silhouettes: less reference to bohemian looks.
Utilitarian and military influence: epaulettes, metal buttons, d-rings, crisp cotton, and technical fabrics.
Safari inspiration using whites and sand: patch pockets, tabs, drawstrings, mesh, gauze, lightweight knits, and linen fabrics.
Stripes run the range from rugby to multi, in large and small scale. The colorations are fresh with combinations of brights with lights and darks with neutrals.
Preppy and sporty styles in new color variations: wearable brights, mixed shades of rugbys, neat foulard patterns, madras plaids. Polo shirts are popular with a variety details.
Lightweight knits continue, as layering tanks and tees is the trend.
Knit patterns are subtle and tonal, vertical repeats and foulard types.
Textures are soft yet defined: pique, verticals, bubbles, waffles, grid constructions.
Performance requirements include; wrinkle resist, stain resist, wickability, anti-microbial, and durability.
